Nichols of law firm Massey, Stotser & Nichols PC successfully achieved recertification as a family trial advocate. This family law board certification maintains Nichols’ membership within a select group of approximately three percent of American lawyers who have earned board certifications.

The NBTA is a nonprofit organization specifically designed to create an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney’s trial law experience and expertise to aid legal services clients when evaluating qualifications and experience of legal counsel. All NBTA board certified attorneys must successfully complete an elaborate screening of credentials, including: demonstration of substantial trial experience, submission of judicial and peer references attesting to their competency, attendance of continuing legal education courses, and proof of good standing.

“The NBTA leverages board certifications, one of the most stringent honors attorneys can achieve, to safeguard the public’s ability to access verified information when choosing quality trial attorneys,” stated Rick Stotser, MSN attorney and senior partner. “We’re proud of both Randy’s demonstrated, ongoing commitment to delivering the highest caliber of family law services and his dedication to transparency with our community regarding legal counsel quality, as illustrated by his multiple successful completions of the board certification’s rigorous application process.”

Nichols earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University and is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. He is recognized as a Certified Mediator for General Civil Litigation and Domestic Relations; Certified Mediator, Alabama Appellate Courts; and Certified Arbitrator, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Additionally, Randy is a member of the Alabama State Bar Association, Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the United States Chapter of the International Academy of Family Lawyers.
